Hinsdale South On-site COVID-19 testing services being provided by Northshore Clinical Labs

On-site COVID-19 testing services being provided by Northshore Clinical Labs

This is a follow up message to the district’s email on 10/25/21 regarding on-site testing for students participating in athletics and activities at Hinsdale South.

As a reminder, unvaccinated students who are taking part in a school or district sponsored sport or activity, which includes serving on a student club or organization, are required to participate in the district’s weekly testing program. For athletics, this is limited to students who are currently in season. Test results will be a factor in determining eligibility.

Parents/guardians that would like their student to utilize the services being provided by Northshore and District 86 must provide consent PRIOR TO BEGIN TESTING. Below is the school-specific link that parents/guardians can use to authorize consent for their children.

Unvaccinated students may submit negative test results from an outside facility to fulfill the testing requirement. If students test at a facility outside of school, they should submit proof of the test to the contacts below:

Based on the student’s last name, listed in the below chart, students in any club, student organization, or participating in an in-season Hinsdale South athletic team must report to the on-site testing facility, room 126, across from the school nurse’s office, on the day listed in the below chart. The Northshore Clinic Lab center will be open from 8:00am - 3:00pm, Monday - Friday. Students can walk into the lab location at any time between these hours on the students designated test day.

Students and athletes will begin to receive emails from the athletics and activities directors when they should begin to report for weekly testing. This will be based on season start dates and current roster status.

Student Last Name

Day of Testing

Students who are absent or are assigned to test on weekdays when school is closed, or another reason that a day is missed, students should attend the next available testing day during the hours of 3:00pm-4:00pm.

Any student that does not test on their assigned day, except for the reasons stated above, will be ineligible to participate in any of their extra curricular activities until proof of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test is submitted.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to return students to their passions, while also keeping them, their peers, and our staff safe.

Yours in South Pride,

Arwen Pokorky Lyp | Principal
