Supporting Hinsdale Central’s Asian American / Pacific Islander Community
All of us at D86 and Hinsdale Central stand in solidarity with our Asian American and Pacific Islander students, staff, and community members against hate crimes and discrimination based on race. We want all students to feel safe and supported on our campus. We encourage any student who would like to talk more about the increase in violence against the Asian American and Pacific Islander community to reach out to any adult on campus. Counselors, social workers, deans and teachers are here to support our students.
The Red Devil staff at Hinsdale Central High School are committed to a school environment that is inclusive, supportive and available to all students. As the D86 Equity Statement reads, we are committed to being leaders for equity in our policies, practices and curriculum, each stakeholder will proactively work to eliminate opportunity and achievement gaps, ensure success for all students by identifying and addressing personal and institutional bias and barriers, and provide strategies to ensure students of all races and cultures have equitable access to diverse educators, rigorous instruction, rich learning opportunities, social/emotional, academic and community supports, and resources to ensure success.
