Hinsdale, Ill. – April 18, 2019 – Hinsdale Township High School District 86 today reported that the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International has again awarded its Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award to District 86 for having met or exceeded the program’s high standards for financial reporting and accountability. The District was recognized for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018, making this the 24th year in a row that District 86 has earned a Certificate of Excellence.
“We are proud to be receiving this award for the 24th time because it demonstrates the commitment that District 86 has made to sound financial management,” said Chief Financial Officer Josh Stephenson. “We are honored that ASBO has recognized our efforts and we will incorporate their suggestions into our best practices as we continue to pursue excellence in financial management and stewardship.”
According to ASBO, “The COE’s mission is to promote and recognize excellence in financial reporting, specifically through a district’s CAFR,” ASBO International Director of Recognition Programs Molly Barrie says. “The CAFR informs parents and other stakeholders about the financial and economic state of the district, making it an important communications tool for building trust and engaging with the school community.”
ASBO International is a professional organization of 5,000 members that provides programs and services to promote the highest standards of school business management practices, professional growth, and the effective use of education resources.
