D86 Earns Meritorious Budget Award for 2018-19 Fiscal Year

Hinsdale, IL – March 11, 2019 –Hinsdale Township High School District 86 today announced that it has earned the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for excellence in budget presentation during the 2018-19 budget year. This is the third consecutive year D86 has won this award.

 

“We are so pleased to have earned the Meritorious Budget Award from ASBO again this year,” said Chief Financial Officer Josh Stephenson. “We work very hard in the Business Office every year to create a report that makes the complex topic of school finance more transparent and easier to understand to the taxpayer. I give credit to my staff for or the effort they put into this project and I thank the Board of Education for their continued support as we look forward to continuing to strive for excellence in the Business Office.”

 

According to ASBO, the MBA promotes and recognizes excellence in school budget presentation and enhances school business officials' skills in developing, analyzing, and presenting a school system budget. After a rigorous review by professional auditors, the award is conferred only on school districts that have met or exceeded the program’s stringent criteria.

 

ASBO International, founded in 1910, is a professional organization of 5,000 members that provides programs and services to promote the highest standards of school business management practices, professional growth, and the effective use of education resources.
