Hinsdale, Ill. – November 20, 2018 – Hinsdale Township High School District 86 has announced the launch of its new portal for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. The new FOIA portal can be found at the same location on the District 86 website as the now-retired request form, https://d86.hinsdale86.org/FOIA.
The portal, powered by GovQA, greatly improves the functionality and user experience over the District’s previous FOIA log. Some of the benefits of this new, user-friendly web portal include:
The ability to submit requests electronically, to track progress, and to receive updates by email, to view ongoing request correspondence related to a request and to download electronic records when released
The option for requesters to view their own current and historic FOIA requests through the private “My Request Center”
The interactive search function in the archive enables anyone to view and to search all FOIA requests and responses submitted to the District since June 2013
The tools feature assists portal users in finding requests and responses that may be related to a new request as well as directs users to the locations where information may already be publicly available
