Homecoming Week Activity Guide
Let's Get Fired UP.....
Sunday, September 22nd Activities:
Raise the Roof 5K – Habitat for Humanity is sponsoring the 7th annual Raise the Roof 5K. The race stars at 8AM from Grant Street on Sunday, Sept. 22nd. Race Registration can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/yxgxvbeh
Float Building - Class Boards from all grade levels will be working on Sunday from 10-2 by the bus barns building floats to represent their class. All grade levels are encouraged to attend and participate and help to make their float the best! Prizes are awarded to best floats!
During the Week
Homecoming Dance tickets - Tickets are $20 each and will be sold the week of Sept. 23-27th during all lunch periods. Tickets are also sold at the door of the dance until 8 pm. Any guest from another school must fill out the Dance Guest Form and turn into the Dean’s Office by 3:00 pm on 9/20.
Dress Days - Students and Staff are encouraged to participate in all dress days the week of Homecoming.
Kick off Homecoming week on FRIDAY, Sept. 20th in spirit wear with a class color competition:
Freshmen: Yellow Sophomores: Orange Juniors: White Seniors: Black Staff: Red
Monday – Don't Sleep on School Spirit wear your PJ's to school!
Tuesday – Get FIRED up for your team - wear your favorite Jersey!
Wednesday – SunBURN on the Beach - wear your favorite Beach wear to school!
Thursday – Disco Inferno, Dancing with the Red Devil - wear your 70's Disco style to school!
Friday – Red & White Day - It's a GREAT day to be a RED DEVIL!
Lunch Activities – Bean bags and Spike ball will be available in the courtyard all week. Thursday, a DJ will be in all lunch periods playing music and hosting various dance competitions for a chance to win free Homecoming tickets.
Trivia Night – Come to the Student Café on Wednesday, Sept. 25th at 6 PM to test your knowledge of Hinsdale Central High School! $2 to get in and play, $5 if you want to eat! All proceeds go to the Senior class towards their prom! Winner gets 2 FREE Homecoming Dance tickets! Other prizes will be awarded as well.
Dunk Tank – Bring in 2 canned goods or $1 for a chance to Dunk your favorite teachers or Homecoming Court members during lunch on Wednesday, Sept. 25th. All proceeds will go the People’s Resource Center.
Powder Puff game – The game will take place between the Juniors and Seniors at 7:00 pm on Dickenson Field, Monday, Sept. 23rd. Come out and cheer on the ladies! All proceeds go to the Hinsdale Central All School Fundraiser.
Pep Rallies – There are 2 Pep Rallies during Homecoming Week. Friday, Sept. 20th at 2:40 is the first of the week where the Homecoming Court is finally announced. The week wraps up on Friday, Sept. 27th at 1:30 where various groups perform, contests are held and the Homecoming Court performs their skits.
Homecoming King and Queen Voting – The ENTIRE school will participate in voting for the Homecoming King and Queen this year. You can vote from 2:30 PM on Friday, Sept. 21st until 3:00PM on Saturday, Sept. 28th - Voting Link will be sent to school email accounts. You will log in with your HC user name and password to vote
Friday, September 27th
Football game: Come be part of the Red Devil Nation and support the football players on Dickinson field as they take on Downers North High School for the 1st time ever on a FRIDAY NIGHT. The Varsity team kicks off at 7PM.
Saturday, September 28th
Pancake Breakfast: The Pancake Breakfast is hosted by the HHSTA to raise money for Scholarships that go back to the students. Pancakes are served from 7:00-11:00 am in the Café. Tickets can be purchased at the event: $10.00 per adult AND STUDENTS, $5.00 seniors over 65, children under 10. Children under 6 are Free.
Parade - The parade will line up in the senior parking lot starting at 8 am on Saturday, Sept. 28th and will leave promptly at 9:30 am from the parking lot. The parade route is through downtown Hinsdale. The parade is open to any organized group from Hinsdale Central as well as alumni. To enter your group in the parade, use the following link: all participants must have an adult chaperone with them during the parade. The parade route is here:
Homecoming Dance - The Homecoming Dance will take place in the Field House from 7-10 pm on Saturday, Sept. 28th. All guests must arrive prior to 8 pm in order to be admitted. Students must show their student ID and have their tickets available upon entering. Appropriate attire, or semi-formal dress, is required as well as shoes at all times. The King and Queen are announced at the dance after 9:00 pm.
