District 86 students must complete Residency Verification and Online Registration to enroll for the following school year.
1. ResidencyAll District 86 students are required to provide proof of residency each school year. On April 1 2019, families received an email asking parents/guardians to update and confirm student residency information that will be used in the residency verification process. Incomplete, outdated or inaccurate student residency information could delay residency verification. For the 2019-2020 school year, District 86 has contracted with a third-party vendor to check student residency information electronically. If residency cannot be verified electronically, further proof of residency will be required. Just because your residency was verified electronically last year does not mean it will be this year.Electronic residency verification will occur the week of April 15. You will receive an email with your student's residency status and next steps.
If you opt out of the release of directory information for electronic residency verification, your student's residency status will be "not verified" and residency documentation will be required.Residency must be verified prior to registration.
2. RegistrationIn July, designated custodial guardians of students whose residency is verified, will receive an email invitation to complete Online Registration.Registration must be completed for your student’s schedule to become active.
3. Fees & TextbooksFor registered students, 2019-2020 fees will be activated in PushCoin and 2019-2020 textbooks will be available on the MBS website.
