Villanova University NovaEdge Virtual Engineering Summer Program
July 12, 2021 - July 16, 2021
This is a five day program that introduces a diverse population of students from different ethnic and social backgrounds to the traditional fields of engineering, including Chemical, Civil and Environmental, Computer and Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. Students also will be introduced to unique aspects of Villanova's College of Engineering which include Sustainable Engineering and Engineering Entrepreneurship. Lectures and hands-on laboratory will involve at home experiments which are taught by Villanova engineering faculty, and daily guest speakers who will provide academic and industry instruction. This program is open to rising sophomore, junior and senior high school students.

UMass Amherst Summer Pre-College Programs
UMass Amherst Summer Pre-College offers academic intensives for rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors ranging in length from 1 to 6 weeks. Their programs correspond to a variety of majors at UMass (and many other universities) and give students an opportunity to explore their academic interests and help them decide what to study in college. Topics range from sport management and business to engineering, animal science, architecture and much more. All programs will be fully online and taught by UMass Amherst faculty and graduate students, combining live video instruction, independent project/group work, and checkins with faculty and TA's. Each course includes a minimum of 8 hours/week of live instructions plus offline assignments. Students will earn college credits and will be able to request an official UMass transcript. High school students entering 10th - 12th grades are eligible to apply and admissions are rolling through June.

Boston University Summer Journalism Academy
Two-week sessions begin on June 21, July 5 and July 19
From protests to town hall meetings to interviewing local and state politicians, our students are covering issues that matter in their communities. Students also have the option of selecting a photojournalism track, taught by veteran photojournalist Stephen Haines. He worked as a staff photographer, assignment and photo editor for the Boston Globe. He will help students sharpen their camera skills to teach them the basics of visual storytelling.

Mount Mary 2021 Summer Leadership Academy

This is a hybrid program, held partially on campus and partially online. The academy is also available as a fully online experience. The cost to attend the hybrid program (part on-campus, part online) is $100 and includes all meals, activity, and program costs. The cost is $50 for students who choose to participate entirely online. Financial need scholarship are available.

Students will explore the circumstances leading to the war, investigate significant battles during the war, and explore the condition of the United States after the war.

John Carroll University Young Writers Workshop Summer 2021

The John Carroll University Young Writers Workshop is a week-long summer camp offering both day camp and overnight residential options, so students from all over the country can experience inspiring and rigorous creative writing! Students in grades 8 - 12 will participate in an immersive writing experience in the craft of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Studying with acclaimed professors, students read, engage in writing exercises, workshop their stories and poems, and experience a pre-college environment. They compose new work which will be published in their annual anthology. The last day of camp features a reception and reading by the Young Writers.

National Geographic Student Expeditions
National Geographic offers summer travel programs that aim to inspire and educate high school and middle school students age 13 and older.
