Curriculum and Instruction Presentation: Social Emotional Learning
Director of Student Services Brad Verthein and Hinsdale Central SEL Teacher Trainer /English Educator Megan Parker will provide the Board with a presentation on the importance of and tools used to support Social Emotional Learning in District 86.
2017-18 School Year Calendar Proposal and Three-Year Calendar Proposal
The proposed calendars for the 2017-18 school year as well as the proposed three-year calendar have been modified since the February 6 meeting. A summary of those modifications and updated calendars can be found in public content.
Approve the Updated 1:1 Initiative Timeline and $50 Baseline Technology Fee
The Board will consider Administration’s recommendation to revert to the original, four-year rollout of the 1:1 initiative. Included in this item is the recommendation to continue the current base technology fee at $50 per student next year.
Adopt Resolution #17.21 – Relating to the Abatement of the 2016 Tax Levy
The Board will vote on whether to adopt Resolution #17.21 to abate $500,000 to the Debt Service Fund for the 2016 levy that will fund the 2017-18 school year.
Award Bid 17-025 Summer Construction Projects 2017 – Base Bid
Following the discussion at the February 6 meeting regarding the overlap between 2017 summer construction and referendum projects, the Board will vote on whether to approve the revised summer construction projects – base bid.
Award RFP 17-024 Auditing Services
The Board will vote on whether to approve Administration’s recommendation to award the request for proposal for auditing services from Klein Hall for fiscal years 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Continuum of Services Report
Assistant Superintendent of Student Services Tammy Prentiss will provide the Board with an annual report on the continuum of services. The report will address three areas: Updates and continued improvements in assistive technology services across the District since the February 2016 Board report; a review of the original business case for HAVEN and an update on student outcomes; and student outcome data for Transition Center students who also participate in the BRIDGE community college support program that was implemented this school year.
Business Office Reports
The Business Office will provide the January 2017 Treasury and G Fund reporting and a final accounting of the Transition Center project.
